Vertical Collapse
Repair of:
Monitor (Wells Gardner WG4901)
Repair Type:
Part
Status:
InProgress
Contributed by:
Arcadenut
Symptom:
Monitor has a solid white line through the center of the monitor (horizontally).
Solution:
If you smacked the side of the monitor (gently) it would show the full picture briefly. This was an indication of a cold solder joint. Reflowing the solder on several suspect components (Q302, Q301, a couple of Caps), near the Vertical section of the board fixed the issue.
