Well, that's the case with my Q*Bert.  I know, it's not original to put a handle on it, but it makes moving the game A LOT easier!

 

The first step is to determine where the handle should go.  Well, the handles I purchased form Home Depot were 6 1/2" wide and the cabinet is 24 1/2" wide.  

 

So if you do the math of (24.5 / 2) - (6.5 / 2) you get 9".  This means the edge of the handle should be 9" from either side.

 

The top piece is 3 1/2" tall, and the handle is 1 3/4" tall.  Doing the math (3.5 / 2) -  (1.75 / 2) you get just under 1", so I just rounded it to 1" to make it easy.

 

 After measuring it out, I marked the spots and drilled pilot holes using a 7/64" bit.  

 

A word of caution!  The screws that came with the handle are 1" and they will protrude from the other side when fully screwed in.  If this concerns you, you should find shorter screws.

 

I used the level to make sure the handle was as level as possible when completing the second side. 

So now my Q*Bert has a nice handle on the back, and it looks like it came from the factory that way.  Except it didn't.

 

Might knock a dollar off the value, but it makes it a lot easier to move the game around.   Any game that is a PITA to move in the future will get a handle as well if it doesn't have one (or hand holes).
