Guide to Restorations - Section 7 Last Updated on: 8/24/2013
Ok, what did we miss?

Well how about the t-molding that goes around the edges of the game. The trim on the game should be the very last thing that you replace on your game. This is so you don't nick it, get paint on it, or damage it in some other way. New trim does wonders for the appearance of your game.

How about the speaker grill?

Even if you don't want to paint it, try just replacing the t-molding. Its easy, and you can do it in about 10 - 20 mins.

You're done!

Now its up to you to keep it up and running. You may consider adding a fan over one of the Vent holes to help keep the temperature of the cabinet down. Some people even mount fans near specific things that get hot and break down due to the heat. The Star Wars Monitor comes to mind.

Well, there you have it. The guide to restoring video games. Tell me what you think.

If you have any information that would help other people restore their games or you have a web page that also deals with restorations, please feel free to send me the information. As always, if you find errors, or just plain stupid stuff on here, let me know.

Thanks and good luck!

Comment: Thank you so much. I love your site, the parts that I have seen. I am new to arcade restoration and this information is a huge help for me. I bought a Ninja Gaiden that is in a Blue Print cab. I want to restore the blue print and move the Ninja to it's own "original-ish" (built to original specs but new) dedicated I'm super excited!
